Splatoon 2 gets July 21 Release Date and 3 New Amiibo

Nintendo recently announced that Splatoon 2 will be launching on July the 21st 2017. The new game will also be coming with three new Amiibo figurines that will offer more functionality as well as a new PvE game mode. This means that means that multiplayer teams will be able to take part in arena matches, while Amiibo fans will also get a few more pieces to add to their collection.

News of Splatoon 2’s release date is most  likely to be met with much excitement by Nintendo Switch gamers. Although the date feels far, the new game will be out this summer. And if the trailer below is anything to go by, it will be worth the wait!

Splatoon 2′ s PvE mode features an arena match which Nintendo has named the “Salmon Run,” which will see four players take on dozens of enemies. Consequently, the bad guys are designed to come in waves, and after taking down each one you have to take the opportunity to harvest “power eggs.” In addition to the single-player mode, the new multi-player certainly looks like an exciting prospect. The new mode is also rumored to be coming with the ability to to unlock new gear, items, and weapons.

For anyone who was hoping for new Splatoon Amiibo, Nintendo announced a total of 3 new figurines. The three will be new versions of the Inkling Boy and girl, with the new one featuring shorter hair. A new leaping squid Amiibo figurine will also be released alongside Splatoon 2. As with the original Splatoon, the new Amiibo can be used to unlock new outfits. They can also store your information if you’re gaming on the go.
